As a Service Engineer at Synchron Lab Automation, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining, and optimizing machines, modules, and complete systems developed by our engineering department. You act as the technical link between our organization and our customers, ensuring that all systems operate reliably, safely, and according to specifications.

You will work both on-site at customer locations and from our workshop, dealing with a wide range of technologies in machine building, mechatronics, electrical engineering, and industrial automation. We specialize in laboratory automation, and you will play a key role in ensuring the availability and reliability of our customers' installations. This role requires a professional attitude, adherence to safety regulations, and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

General

Your responsibilities include:

  • Installing and commissioning machines, modules, and complete systems at customer sites.
  • Configuring, testing, and validating mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
  • Performing functional acceptance tests (FAT/SAT) and supporting customers during system handovers.
  • Adjusting, calibrating, and optimizing systems to achieve maximum performance and reliability.
  • Supporting the Production and Engineering teams in transferring new systems to the Service organization.

Maintenance, Support & Service

You will also be responsible for:

  • Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on existing installations.
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.
  • Replacing and refurbishing components and modules.
  • Carrying out software, firmware, and system updates.
  • Documenting completed work and reporting findings to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Advising customers on system maintenance, operation, and potential improvements.

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of MBO Level 4 (vocational education) in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A BBL work-study apprenticeship is also an option.
  • A proactive, independent working attitude with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English are essential; knowledge of additional languages is considered an advantage.
  • As a Service Engineer, you will serve as an important technical point of contact for both customers and colleagues. This includes providing telephone and remote technical support for troubleshooting and technical inquiries.
  • You will regularly collaborate with our Engineering team to develop and implement technical modifications and system upgrades.

What We Offer

  • A full-time position of 40 hours per week.
  • A gross monthly salary between €2,600 and €3,700, based on a 40-hour workweek and depending on relevant experience.
