The technical project manager is responsible for managing all the planning, coordination and administrative control of our projects. You are the central point for communication internally, as well as with our customer and suppliers in all projects. You will work side-by-side with our Technical Manager and his application team. This role ensures both the optimal use of company knowledge and the growth of business with our clients. We are looking for a person with 10 years+ experience in managerial project management role, combined with technical expertise related to liquid handling systems and automation. This role does not include final (product/project) sales, P&L or financial responsibility except for the deliverables with regards to the service teams and its targets regarding service and incident management.
Key responsibilities of the candidate
Managing projects:
- Responsible for overall overview of all projects
- Planning coordination (both staff and logistics)
- Work with the Technical Manager and his team
- Manage contact with suppliers and customers
- Manage time sheets, reporting and procurement of parts
Required skill set of the candidate
Application Expertise – Offering advice on how to optimize product use for specific applications, providing guidance on workflows, and helping customers achieve their desired results.
Relationship Building – Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers, partners and suppliers, acting as a trusted advisor, and gathering customer feedback.
Market Feedback – Communicating customer feedback to the company's product management and engineering teams to help improve products.
Supporting Sales Efforts – Assisting sales representatives in identifying customer needs, qualifying opportunities, and closing deals including sales for service contracts. This includes time spent on quotations for both projects and service.
Competitive Analysis – Understanding the competitive landscape and identifying alternative solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in a technical role, ideally in diagnostics, biotech, or scientific instrumentation
- Proven experience in managing projects and/or service teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical, presentation, and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to travel (max. 10–15%)
Competencies
- Deep technical knowledge of instrumentation and/or automation for laboratory use
- ERP/CRM tools proficiency (preferably Odoo)
- Strategic thinking and client retention focus
- Ability to translate technical details into business value
- Time management and self-motivation for managing technical teams
